Dubbed the Whatever Input to Torsion Transfer (WITT) transmission, the recently patented device harvests six degrees of movement and transfers the motion to a flywheel that always spins in the same direction. The flywheel drives the turbine of a generator. From Engineering.com

The diagram and video are mesmerizing.  Also this could be big.  It reminds me of the rotational batteries NASA developed.  Alternative energy production and storage technologies really get the creative juices flowing.

OK, like every guy, I tend to procrastinate with greetings and the like.  This year we have a valid excuse.  We were hit with an ice storm just before Christmas.  To follow that up Santa brought me food poisoning on Xmas eve.  A fun holiday season.

Actually it was fun.  I saw my oldest dearest friend for dinner (avoid chicken wings in a city with spotty electrical service) and was able to relax for a couple days.

Best wishes for 2014!!
